Portrait of Aaron Swartz, famous internet hacktivist turned martyr after committing suicide at age 26 following his indictment for wire fraud and violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse act, carrying a cumulative penalty of $1 million in fines and 35 years in prison for having downloaded and made publicly available a large number of academic publications from the MIT’s computer network, in what was called the JSTOR scandal.

His dramatic story was popularized by the movie “The Internet’s Own Boy”.
