Taking profit and advantage of this new technology is not harder than setting up a PayPal account, or an Etsy Shop, but some practices may take some getting used to.

Getting started

Selling with De Louvois is no different from selling on any other website.

The only true difference is that you will get paid in cryptocurrency, which you will find out is infinitely more convenient and cost effective than traditional bank wire or PayPal transfers.

Not only that, but De Louvois shields you from the price volatility of cryptocurrencies.

You get every dollar of what you charge, minus your seller fees.

How do we do that ?

Let's say you decide to list an item for $100 on De Louvois.

Once a buyer places an order using Bitcoin or any other digital currency, we automatically "freeze" the incoming amount into USD-Coins, so you will always get $100.

USD-Coins ( USDC ) is a digital currency ( just like Bitcoin ) backed by industry giants such as Goldman Sachs and Silvergate Capital, fully collateralized by United States Dollars at a 1:1 ratio, and redeemable at any moment for USD, EUR or any other currency.

Before doing business on our platform, you should create a USDC-ready Wallet Address or BitPay Account.

If you have not created one already, feel free to skip directly to the "Getting Paid" section.

Listing products

Once your vendor account has been validated, you will get to publish new products on our marketplace directly under your vendor's name.

There are however some restrictions as to who can publish what.

Listing your first product

In order to list your first product, please visit your user profile and click the "Vendor Dashboard" button.

You will be proposed with a selection of categories that you may choose from ;
- Watches, jewellery, wine & spirits and designer handbags are strictly restricted to a limited number of verified vendors.
- Cars and Real estate will be published as classifieds

You will be then presented with the appropriate form : just let yourself be guided by the instructions.
- Once you click the "Submit" button, your item will be submitted for moderation, and published if approved.
- Your item will remain displayed and available for sale on our marketplace until it has been bought or withdrawn/deleted
- You can withdraw/delete published items at any time through your Vendor Dashboard

How will my item be displayed ?

Communicating with customers and prospective buyers

Every De Louvois member ( customer or seller ) receives a unique profile address which can be used to communicate through our internal chat system.
Prospective buyers can use it to contact you, and customers may use it to get in touch with you.

Please, note that : due to the irrevocability of digital currency payments, and in order to prevent potential incidents, potential customers, buyers and sellers are expected to communicate exclusively through our messaging system.

Offering to buy or sell outside of De Louvois will result in an immediate termination for both parties, as it will for sharing email addresses, phone numbers or other contact information, web addresses, spam or links.

After the sale

Once the payment has cleared, you will get an email confirmation containing the buyer's shipping information, as well as a link to his/her De Louvois profile.
You will also be provided with a unique link to your Vendor Dashboard, allowing you to mark the order as shipped.

It is common practice for vendors to send a greeting message to their clients, particularly when it comes to large orders.

The details and status of your current and previous orders can found be within your Vendor Dashboard.

Return, refund & shipping policy

Selling fees

Selling fees includes incoming ( buyers ) and outcoming ( payout ) network fees and cryptocurrency conversion to USDC.

The following rates are provided for information purposes only, and may be subject to changes, in which case the aforementioned changes will be mentioned before you publish a new item.

Either way, you will be presented with the current fee before submitting a new product using our listing form (*)

Art & Collectibles : 20%
Watches & Jewelry : 15%
Wine & Spirits : 12.5%
Designer handbags : 15%
Men & Women's fashion : 15%
Home & Gifts : 15%
Cars & Motors : escrow service available on demand starting at 3.5%
Real estate : escrow service available on demand starting at 0.75%

Getting paid

Once a payment has been made, you will be able to issue a payout request from your Vendor Dashboard.

Thanks to cryptocurrency, you can send your money anywhere you want.
Depending on your desire, you can either chose to receive your payout in Cash through Bank Wire, or in USDC, through your cryptocurrency Wallet Address.
Either way, 1 USD-Coin ( USDC ) can be redeemed for US$1.00 at any time through any reputable exchange (*).

Start a BitPay payout request on De Louvois

First of all, make sure you are logged in to your De Louvois account.

Already logged in ? Just click here to make a Payout Request.

Once you have accessed your "Vendor Dashboard", click on the "Request Payout" button.

You will be asked to provide your BitPay Quick checkout address.

If you are not sure what that is, please go to the "Cash settlement using Bitpay" section and follow the required steps.

Once you are done, you will be contacted by a De Louvois representative within 24 to 48 hours in order to confirm further information regarding your withdrawal.

Start a Wallet Address payout request on De Louvois

First of all, make sure you are logged in to your De Louvois account.

Already logged in ? Just click here to access your Request Payout.

Once you have accessed your "Vendor Dashboard", click on the "Request Payout" button.

You will be asked to provide a USDC wallet address.

At this point, we only support Ethereum based wallet addresses starting by 0x.

If you are not sure what that is, please go to the "Cash settlement using Bitpay" section and follow the required steps.

Once you are done, you will be contacted by a De Louvois representative within 24 to 48 hours in order to confirm further information regarding your withdrawal.

Cash settlement using BitPay

BitPay allows verified merchants to automatically convert any incoming cryptocurrency amounts into EUR, or USD and wire the proceeds directly into their business accounts.
This is very convenient for professional vendors, however they do require a pretty strong amount of KYC, which is why we only recommend that solution to pre-existing BitPay users.

Make sure you are logged-in to your BitPay account

Once you are logged in, click on "Payment Tools", orClick here directly and choose "Quick Checkout for Web"

You will be asked to fill out both your "Default Currency" or "Additional Currency"

Please fill out "USDC - Circle USD Coin" in either one of those

Once you have done this, just copy the link in your De Louvois Payout Request Form

Cash settlement using Circle.com

Circle.com is the main issuer of USD-Coin ( USDC ), and as such, it allows users with verified accounts to redeem any USDC amounts into EUR, or USD and wire the proceeds directly into their business or personal accounts on a 1USDC for 1$ ratio.

Make sure you are logged-in to your Circle.com account

Once you are logged in, click on "Transfer to Wallet", or Click here directly and choose "Transfer from Blockchain Wallet"
- Then, click on Ethereum

You will be presented with your USDC Wallet address

Then, just copy your wallet address in your De Louvois Payout Request Form.

USDC settlement using Bitstamp

Bitstamp is the longest standing European cryptocurrency exchange. You may use it to trade your USDC for Euros, Dollars, Bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency.

Make sure you are logged-in to your Bitstamp.com account

Once you are logged in, click on "Deposit", or Click here directly and select "USDC - USD Coin"

You will be presented with your USDC Wallet address

Then, just copy your wallet address in your De Louvois Payout Request Form.

USDC settlement using Binance

Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in 2021. You may use it to trade your USDC for Euros, Dollars, Bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency.

Make sure you are logged-in to your Binance.com account

Once you are logged in, click on "Wallet/ Deposit", or Click here directly and select "USDC - USD Coin"

You will be presented with your USDC Wallet address

Then, just copy your wallet address in your De Louvois Payout Request Form.
